Taos,
New Mexico has 10 lifts and
72 runs. Mountain Top: 12,481' | Base: 9207' | Vertical Drop: 3274'.
The runs consist of 24% Beginner, 25% Intermediate
and 51% Advanced.
During the drought in the Far West from 1986-1988, many Californians
skied Taos because we heard there was an abundance of snow there. However,
so many Californians showed up that the lift lines got a lot longer
than the resort operators were used to. They came around and apologized
to people and passed out hot chocolate for having to wait longer than
10 minutes to get on the lift. A 10 minute lift line in California is
not a big deal.
