Mammoth Mountain has 28 lifts and 150 runs. It was my favorite ski area while living in Southern California. It has a lot of variety and a great mix of runs for all levels. The top of chair 23 was the most challenging during the 1980s. The easiest advance run was "Cornice". The ski area usually stays open through mid summer. That is why we are skiing in shorts. The top of the mountain is: 11,053' and the Base: 7953' | Vertical Drop: 3100'. The runs consist of 30% Beginner, 40% Intermediate and 30% Advanced.
