La Quinta Dunes Course During the winter high season, green fees are quite expensive. Playing the La Quinta Dunes Course was a special treat for me. Early in morning, the sun cast a beautiful array of colors against the desert mountains and perfectly still course lakes There is a companion course at La Quinta, called the Mountain course. It is said to be more interesting and challenging than the Dunes course. I hope to try it the next time I'm at La Quinta. |

La Quinta Dunes Course No. 17 Some of the most scenic and luxurious golf courses in the Palm Springs area are found near La Quinta. La Quinta is about 45 minutes by car Southeast of downtown Palm Springs. There are several such courses at PGA West and La Quinta. No. 17, shown above, is the signature hole for the La Quinta Dunes course and is considered to be one of the toughest holes in America. The hole is long and hugs the backside of the largest lake on the course. The whole course is pretty challenging, at least it was for me. |
